Three Decades of Practice. Two Attorneys Who Still Answer Your Call.
Ventresca & Ventresca LLP has been a Pittsburgh-area institution since 1992 — a boutique firm where the attorney handling your matter is the attorney you talk to, every time.
How We Built This Firm — and Why It Still Works This Way
We founded this practice together in 1992 with a straightforward premise: clients deserve direct access to experienced legal counsel, not a rotating cast of junior staff. More than three decades later, that premise still governs how we work. Every matter at Ventresca & Ventresca LLP is handled by one of us — not delegated down, not passed off.
That structure is deliberate. It means you get attorneys with three decades of practice experience working on your file from day one. It means when something changes in your case, you hear it from the person who understands it fully. And it means the relationship you build with this firm is a relationship with an attorney, not a brand.
We serve clients across the Pittsburgh metro area and well beyond — Lisa handles immigration matters nationwide and internationally, and Ken is licensed to extend our estate planning and tax work to clients in both Pennsylvania and Florida,
Lisa Ventresca
Immigration Law
Lisa Ventresca concentrates her practice in immigration law, with a focus on business and employment-based immigration for employers and the professionals they hire. She has represented HR departments, multinational companies, small businesses, and individual applicants across the full spectrum of employment-based immigration — H-1B visas, TN status, L visas, PERM labor certification, employment-based green cards, family-based immigration, and citizenship and naturalization matters.
Because immigration law is federal, Lisa's practice has no geographic boundary. She works with clients throughout the United States and internationally, navigating a regulatory environment that changes with administrations, court decisions, and USCIS policy shifts. She tracks those changes closely and communicates them directly to the clients and HR teams who need to act on them.
What Lisa brings to every immigration matter is the perspective of an attorney who has practiced through decades of policy cycles — the judgment to distinguish a procedural delay from a substantive problem, and the experience to know when urgency is warranted.
Ken Ventresca
Estate Planning, Taxation, and Business Law
Ken Ventresca's practice runs long and deep in three intersecting areas: taxation, estates and trusts, and mergers and acquisitions. He is supported by Maggie Mills, a highly trained paralegal who works closely with clients across all three practice areas.
Ken's tax practice is full service. He advises on tax planning strategy, prepares returns for more than 250 high-net-worth individuals and their businesses each year, and represents clients in audits and disputes before the IRS, state taxing authorities, and the United States Tax Court.
His estates and trusts practice concentrates on planning and administration for high-net-worth clients and their families. The goal in every engagement is to carry out the client's intentions while minimizing the impact of federal estate taxes, generation-skipping taxes, income taxes, and state-level inheritance taxes where applicable.
In his mergers and acquisitions practice, Ken represents clients in the purchase and sale of business interests. His involvement typically begins before the transaction, with tax structuring advice, and continues through the letter of intent, due diligence, purchase agreement drafting and review, and representation through closing.
Ken also works alongside Lisa Ventresca to represent college and professional athletes and entertainers in matters that intersect with tax, estate planning, and business law.
One Firm.
Four Practice Areas.
No Handoffs to Strangers.
One of the practical advantages of a firm structured the way ours is: when your immigration matter has a business law dimension, or your estate plan intersects with a tax question, the attorneys handling those matters are in the same office and have been working together for over three decades. There's no coordination gap. There's no referral fee. There's no explaining your situation from scratch to a different firm.
For employer clients in particular, this means immigration counsel, entity and contract work, and tax guidance can all be handled in one place — by attorneys who understand the full picture of your business.
We also maintain a strong referral network with attorneys across practice areas and geographies. When a matter falls outside our scope, we connect clients with counsel we trust — and attorneys regularly refer complex, cross-disciplinary matters to us for the same reason.
